Musical Dice -- The Iron Cross 300+ Strategy
Written September 22, 2025
Admittedly, this strategy was inspired by Jacob(from WagerMeThis)'s $500 Iron Cross strategy, where he puts 150 each on the 6 and 8, 125 on the 5, and 75 on the Field, for a total investment of $500. He advocates three hits, and taking everything down, repeating the process for more than one shooter. That way, you'll win at least $500 in a very short time.
Two thoughts on this: One: While it is true that the math is on your side, since you're 5 times as likely to roll one of the other numbers, and not the 7, and you're only leaving your money out there for 3 rolls per shooter, I don't know about you, but I don't feel comfortable having that much money out there initially. Two: The roll that got you the three hits may very well be the monster roll that you want. But you won't be able to take advantage of it if you don't have any money out there, on some of the Place bets.
My strategy, therefore, is to risk less on the Iron Cross, and after the three hits, place some of the money on some of the Place bets, and play it out from there. I thought of doing 300 instead of 500, probably because I was an avid bowler, and today marks the 25th anniversary of my bowling a perfect 300 game in league. Anyway, with the Iron Cross 300+ strategy, you place 75 on the 5, 90 each on the 6 and 8, and the remaining 45 on the field. That's a total investment of $300. After three hits, you'll have at least $135, and you can place some of it on some of the Place bets (like 30 each on the 6 and 8) -- the plus-part of this strategy. If you hit a long rally, you'll be able to catch some of those rolls, and make additional money.
Of course, you can scale this down to better fit your budget, if you need to. In fact, if you're playing on a 10 or a 15-dollar table, you may want to invest $200 initially, placing 50 on the 5, 60 each on the 6 and 8, and 30 on the Field. If you're playing a 5 or a 10-dollar table, you may even want to invest only $100, placing 25 on the 5, 30 each on the 6 and 8, and 15 on the Field.
Of course, the big enemy of this kind of a strategy is the early seven-out, before you get a chance to take your bets down. You may want to be somewhat selective on when you put the big money out there. For example, if you had just missed a big roll, the following roll probably won't be the best time to make such big bets. Or if you think the shooter's not going to shoot for long, then you may not want to bet on this shooter. But the math is on your side, and most of the time, you'll make it past three hits, and will be pleased with your results.
As with all these craps strategies, there is no guarantee that this will work every single time. But I think this will be a nice stretegy to add to your arsenal of craps strategies. Now this will require a bigger bankroll than most of these strategies, but if you can afford it, I think you'll like playing it. Good luck! ☺
